The Daily Dig
Sunraycer Renewables has started construction on its Lupinus I & II and Eagle Springs solar and battery storage projects in Northeast Texas. The two developments, located in Hagansport and Lake Creek, will deliver more than 620 MWdc of solar capacity and over 475 MWh of battery storage. Both projects are designed to strengthen grid reliability and support economic activity across the region.
Eagle Springs is already under construction and is tracking toward commercial operation in late 2026. Lupinus I & II broke ground in March 2026 with completion targeted for early 2028.
McCarthy Building Companies is the EPC contractor on both sites. Construction is expected to create more than 200 local jobs, with McCarthy's apprenticeship program focused on building career pathways into the skilled trades and keeping regional hiring and spending local.

TheJobWalk Thoughts
Two sites, one EPC, completions roughly 14 months apart. That stagger is worth paying attention to. McCarthy's subcontractor base on Eagle Springs will be winding down right as Lupinus starts ramping, which gives regional subs and suppliers a real shot at back-to-back work if they've performed.
The apprenticeship pipeline is another angle worth watching. On projects this size, owners and GCs are under genuine pressure to hit local workforce numbers, and the subs already plugged into those pipelines will have an edge on future awards in this corridor. For sales teams covering Northeast Texas, Lupinus stretching into early 2028 means this isn't a one-call situation. Get in front of the right people while Eagle Springs is still active.
