Skanska has completed demolition and moved into the reconstruction phase of the Milton S. Eisenhower Library renovation at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The milestone marks the placement of the first major structural element and the start of vertical construction.
The 183,746 square foot library is being renovated to function as a modern academic and research hub. Planned improvements include expanded collaborative spaces, specialized learning labs, exhibition areas, a two story reading room, and a reimagined accessible entrance designed to bring daylight deeper into the building.

Demolition's done and now the real fun begins. Going vertical inside an existing campus building is one of those jobs where how you sequence things matters just as much as the work itself. Trade coordination, logistics, and keeping quality tight are all going to be front and centre. This isn't the kind of project where you wing it and hope for the best. The teams that nail the planning are the ones who'll come out looking good.
