The Daily Dig

White Cap has acquired the business of Concrete Systems, Inc., a distributor of concrete accessories and rental formwork operating out of two Southwest locations. The Albuquerque, New Mexico branch runs as Concrete Systems; the El Paso, Texas location operates as El Paso Concrete Systems. Both are now part of the White Cap suite of brands, branches, and value-added services.

Concrete Systems, Inc. has been serving contractors in the region since 1968. That longevity brought with it deep customer relationships and local market knowledge across a two-state corridor, which White Cap cited as a key part of what makes the addition meaningful for its West Region.

White Cap CEO Alan Sollenberger pointed to the company's regional expertise and service-oriented culture as the drivers behind the deal. Co-owners Mark High and Steve High said White Cap's shared commitment to service and trusted relationships made the partnership compelling, and that joining a larger organization creates new opportunities to grow, better support their customers, and invest in their team.

TheJobWalk Thoughts

For concrete subcontractors and flatwork crews in the Albuquerque and El Paso markets, this ownership change is worth paying attention to. When a regional supplier gets absorbed into a national distributor, inventory depth and rental availability can improve, but pricing structures and account terms tend to get revisited. Neither outcome is guaranteed here, but if Concrete Systems is a supplier you rely on, now is the time to understand what, if anything, is changing.

White Cap has been on a sustained acquisition run. Their newsroom shows a string of completed deals across 2024 and 2026, including Cascade Raider, Kris-Con, JLA Supply, Site Supply, Midstream Supply and Rental, and Valley Supply, among others. For suppliers and sales reps trying to get in front of White Cap, a fresh branch integration is one of the better entry points available. Procurement relationships get renegotiated during transitions, and that window tends to close faster than people expect.
