The Daily Dig
Corvid Technologies will invest $95 million to expand their campus in Mooresville, North Carolina, adding 423 jobs in Iredell County. Gov. Josh Stein announced the project on October 13, 2026.
The centerpiece is a new manufacturing facility of 400,000 square feet at the company’s headquarters. The expansion will add engineering and manufacturing of vehicle launch systems to their operations.
Launch Pad
Corvid is a nontraditional defense contractor, and their employees own the company. They started in 2004 as a small modeling and simulation firm.
Their work now covers the full product lifecycle, from design and development through testing, manufacturing, and production.
Growth has come fast, according to Dr. David Robinson, President and CEO of Corvid Technologies. “In just two and a half years, we’ve grown from 8,000 square feet of manufacturing space to 800,000 square feet,” he said.
Hiring on the Line
The 423 new positions include assemblers, electricians, engineers, production managers, technicians, and testers.
Salaries will vary by role, but the average will be $81,550 a year. That’s well above Iredell County’s average wage of $64,895.

TheJobWalk Thoughts
The release names no general contractor, and an owner growing this fast likely has builders they already trust. Regional GCs should confirm there’s an open bid before investing in a pursuit. The state grant also pays only after Corvid hits verified job and investment targets each year, so their growth plans come with an annual scorecard.
Corvid plans to hire electricians and technicians, with all new roles averaging $81,550 a year. Those plant jobs will likely compete with local contractors for the same skilled trades. Electrical subs in the region should factor that into crew planning and labor pricing.
