Adolfson & Peterson Construction has named John Herrera chief operating officer and Brandon Hill regional president of AP Mountain States. Both moves are effective Oct. 1.
Herrera's path started at the bottom. He joined AP as an 18-year-old laborer and climbed through foreman, assistant superintendent, superintendent, general superintendent, and VP of field operations before becoming regional president of Mountain States. Thirty-plus years, all with the same company.
As COO, he'll lead AP's national operations with a focus on operational excellence, collaboration, and consistency, while staying based in Colorado.
"John understands our business from the field up," said CEO Brad Hendrickson, pointing to Herrera's history of stepping beyond his own role or region to help the company as a whole.
Passing the Torch
Hill steps into Herrera's old seat after 30 years at AP, most recently as VP of operations. He's been part of the Mountain States succession plan for years, with deep experience in K-12 and higher ed work, master planning, and complex project delivery.
