Signal Boost
The firm specializes in audiovisual systems, distributed antenna systems (DAS), network infrastructure, security, and connected building technologies. DAS is the scope nobody notices until a phone shows one bar in the stairwell.
Founded in 1996, the firm employs more than 130 professionals. They have completed more than 10,000 projects for customers nationwide.
Their key markets include data centers, healthcare, education, government, financial services, and industrial.
Plugged Into the Platform
ArchKey designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains critical infrastructure across North America. They serve customers across all end markets, notably industrial, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, utility, and data centers.
ArchKey says the deal brings more technical depth and more scale to their national platform.
"US Communications & Electric is a strategic fit for ArchKey and an important addition to our technology solutions business," said Steve Stone, Chief Executive Officer of ArchKey.
James Connole, President and COO of US Communications & Electric, spoke to the regional angle: "We're excited to help expand ArchKey's technology presence in the Eastern Region and be part of what is ahead."

TheJobWalk Thoughts
Data centers and healthcare facilities tend to carry heavy low-voltage scope, and both companies list them as key markets. That puts ArchKey's added technology depth in sectors with plenty of that work. GCs pursuing those projects may gain another national option for pricing DAS, security, and network packages.
The release doesn't say whether US Communications & Electric will keep bidding under their own name. GCs and owners with open bids or active service work should ask before their next pricing round. Acquisitions rarely change the work overnight, but they can quietly change who signs the paperwork.
