Integrated Power Services (IPS) has acquired Belyea Company Inc., an Easton, Pennsylvania supplier of medium and high voltage equipment and portable substations. The deal took effect October 7, 2026.
The timing lines up with a real pain point: lead times for new transformers and breakers now stretch across multiple years. IPS says Belyea holds one of the largest inventories of remanufactured high voltage equipment in the United States.
Founded in 1908, Belyea sources surplus equipment from utilities and industrials, refurbishes it, and resells it with warranty. That includes:
69 to 230kV transformers
SF6 circuit breakers
Switchgear and instrument transformers
Substations on Wheels: Belyea also builds and rents portable substations, which customers use to bridge gaps like outages, interconnection lead times, and construction power needs. It serves utility, industrial, commercial, and data center customers.
Weeks Beat Years: “With power transformer lead times now measured in years, our customers need a partner who can put equipment on site in weeks,” said IPS President and CEO John Zuleger.
Belyea joins the IPS Electrification division, connecting its inventory to IPS’ 110+ locations.
Shelf Life: IPS Electrification Division President Michael Kilpatrick said customers can’t buy high voltage transformers, breakers, and substations new “for two years or more.” The IPS pitch, in short: equipment on site in weeks, not years.
