The Daily Dig
Catamount Constructors, a 100% employee-owned ENR Top 400 contractor, has acquired Atlanta based general contractor Freese Johnson. The deal expands Catamount's footprint in the Southeast and strengthens its national platform across healthcare, commercial, senior living, and student housing.
Henry Johnson joins Catamount as Vice President of National Client Development as part of the acquisition. The two firms weren't strangers going in, they'd already collaborated on four acute care hospital projects across the Southeast and a major student housing project at Clemson, giving the integration a running start. Catamount says the move supports long-term growth and talent development while keeping its focus on safety, quality, and service.

TheJobWalk Thoughts
This isn't a cold market entry. Four acute care hospitals already built together means the relationship was proven before the paperwork was signed. For trade partners and suppliers in Georgia and surrounding states, Catamount is now positioned to pursue larger, more coordinated healthcare and campus programs with a deeper bench behind them. If you're selling into hospital or student housing work in the Southeast, expect earlier pursuit engagement and tighter precon alignment. The pipeline is already warm.
