
Two robotic printers are hard at work in Salida, Colorado, and unlike your office printer, they haven't jammed once.
Cleora, a 55-acre development, is aiming to become one of the largest planned 3D-printed residential communities in the world, according to the project's announcement. Seven homes are already built, more are under construction, and multiple have sold, proving people will absolutely buy a house built by robot.
The plan calls for 106 total residences, with more than 65 homes slated to use robotic 3D-printing technology from RIC Robotics, the project's construction tech partner. Most 3D-printed housing projects stop after one showcase home and a ribbon-cutting. Cleora's trying to build an actual zip code.
Cleora is developed by Cleora in partnership with True North, its dedicated 3D-printing general contractor. True North's first model home is currently under construction, with the shell expected to wrap this month.

The Suits Behind the Build: Greg Kenny, Cleora's Managing Partner, said the goal was never just printing houses, it was proving robotics could reshape how whole communities get built. RIC Robotics CEO Dr. Ryan Cox framed Cleora as the tech's shot at graduating from science fair project to actual neighborhood.
If the ramp-up holds, expect every developer with a labor shortage to start eyeing a robot of their own.
