CuBE Packaging Solutions is investing more than $30 million to expand its manufacturing facility in St. Charles, Illinois, the company announced Oct. 13. The project pairs a facility renovation with a phased installation of new high-speed injection molding machines and integrated end-of-line automation.

According to CuBE, the expansion will significantly increase its U.S. production capacity. Not bad for a company whose whole business is giving food a place to go.

Built in Phases, Running Through 2027:

The first phase is complete and already in production. With more phases underway and planned through 2027, this is a multiyear buildout rather than a one-time install.

  • The St. Charles plant entered production in late 2025

  • It anchors CuBE’s U.S. manufacturing footprint

  • It complements the company’s headquarters and flagship plant in Aurora, Ontario, one of the largest single-site food storage injection molding facilities in North America

Made Here, Closer to Customers: CuBE says the investment strengthens its North American supply chain and expands domestic production for U.S. customers. CEO Philippe Erhart said St. Charles “brings us closer to our customers.”

Founded in 2009, CuBE makes reusable, recyclable polypropylene food containers for retail, grocery, restaurant, and foodservice customers across the U.S. and Canada.

The company says demand has accelerated as retailers and restaurant operators shift toward higher quality, sustainable packaging for takeout, delivery, and private label programs.

Jobs on the Menu: CuBE says the expansion will create new manufacturing jobs in St. Charles and the surrounding Fox Valley region, though the release doesn’t give a number. Mayor Clint Hull welcomed the investment, calling manufacturing “an important part” of a healthy mix of businesses and industries.

With installs planned through 2027, that missing headcount is the number worth watching.

Just a quick one..
