Fisk Electric, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), has won an electrical services contract worth approximately $24 million for a new ground-up data center in Houston, Texas. Tutor Perini announced the award on October 6 and described the customer only as confidential.
Shop Floor Plan: Fisk will handle prefabrication and assembly of modular containment systems and related electrical infrastructure, including liquid-cooled components and piping.
The units will be built at Fisk’s new Houston prefabrication and manufacturing facility, which covers 75,000 square feet.
Labor Math: According to Tutor Perini, this new prefab market is in high demand because of the nationwide shortage of electricians.
When Fisk serves as prime electrical contractor, that demand lets it take on more prefab work. Fisk also helps owners, developers, and general contractors refine offsite manufacturing to meet schedules with the limited resources available nationwide.
The logic is simple: when skilled hands are scarce in the field, more of the work moves to the shop.
On the Calendar:
Electrical work starts: expected in Q4 2026
Substantial completion: anticipated in Q1 2027
Backlog: the contract value will be reflected in Tutor Perini’s Q3 2026 backlog
Two Quarters Out: Electrical work is expected to start this quarter, with substantial completion anticipated in the next one. On this job, the schedule is measured in quarters, not years.
