The Build:

Foxconn Technology Group has secured approval from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to invest $569 million to expand its manufacturing operations at the Mount Pleasant facility in Racine County, Wisconsin. The expansion is designed to strengthen Foxconn’s U.S production footprint in response to rising demand from U.S customers for artificial intelligence servers and data infrastructure components.

Under the expansion plan, Foxconn is expected to create approximately 1,374 new jobs over the next four years, almost doubling by 2030 the company says.

Confirmed project details include:

  • Investor/Developer: Foxconn Technology Group (Hon Hai)

  • Location: Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Wisconsin

  • WEDC Approval: $569 million investment with up to $16 million in additional performance based tax incentives through the Electronics, Information Technology, and Manufacturing Zone (EITMZ) program

  • Employment impact: 1,374 new jobs over four years; total commitments under new contract expected to reach 2,616 jobs by 2029

Foxconn’s Mount Pleasant site has been part of the company’s evolving U.S strategy since initial plans for a large scale manufacturing campus were announced in 2017.

This expansion follows multiple contract amendments with WEDC and reflects Foxconn’s continuing effort to fortify its domestic supply chain for next gen technology hardware.
