The Daily Dig

Facility Solutions Group has named Jason Zipprian as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Austin-based FSG ranks among the largest electrical contractors, lighting distributors, and electrical service providers in the country.

Zipprian is a 30-year company veteran who started as an apprentice electrician. He worked his way through field operations, sales, project management, and regional and executive leadership before serving as COO of FSG's Construction division.

The appointment followed a deliberate succession process led by FSG's Board of Directors. Bill Graham, who has served as CEO since the company's founding, transitions to Chairman of the Board and CFO, remaining active in a senior leadership capacity.

FSG stays headquartered in Austin. Zipprian is relocating from Corpus Christi, and FSG has announced plans to build a new corporate office on company-owned land south of downtown Austin.

TheJobWalk Thoughts

When a company the size of FSG runs a formal internal succession and hands the top job to someone who started as an apprentice, it sends a clear message about how the organization values career development. For anyone in the trades watching from the outside, that culture matters when evaluating who to work for or partner with.

The planned corporate office build is also worth tracking. FSG-owned land south of downtown Austin means a controlled project with real procurement potential for local trades and suppliers once design and delivery details become public.
