Denver based architecture and engineering firm Galloway announced it's acquiring Hafer Inc., a 70 person design firm out of Evansville, Indiana, on September 9.
Hafer's been in business since 1978, running offices in Evansville, Columbus, Owensboro, and Carbondale. Its services cover:
Architecture and interior design
MEP engineering
Landscape architecture and planning
Sustainable design
The project list spans healthcare, K12, higher ed, civic, religious, retail, restaurant, library, and aquatics work. That's a broad range of sectors for a firm of this size.
Galloway CEO Dave Guetig called it a fit built on aligned cultures and complementary capabilities. Hafer President Jeff Justice echoed that, saying the move gives his team more resources and room to grow while keeping Hafer's close knit, community focused culture intact. Hafer's offices aren't going anywhere. They'll keep operating as is.
The Math Behind the Merger
This deal continues Galloway's long term growth strategy, done in partnership with ARA Services Partners and Kelso & Company. Galloway is no small shop these days either, with 530 professionals across 21 offices in 13 states, licensed in all 50.
The firm has also climbed 102 spots on the ENR Top 500 over the past five years, landing at No. 288. Hafer joins a firm that's clearly on the move, and now it's along for the ride.
