The Daily Dig:
HC Capital Partners and Herrmann Family Companies have announced the launch of Energy Ranch, a 1,500+ acre power and data infrastructure campus in South Texas. The announcement was made in January 2026 through an official press release. The site is being positioned as a long-term platform for energy intensive users requiring large scale power access and supporting infrastructure.
According to the developers, the Energy Ranch site offers access to multiple large volume natural gas transmission pipelines, two sources of existing purchased power, and proximity to a planned 765-kilovolt transmission line. The project is not a shovel ready construction launch. No tenants, megawatt capacity figures, interconnection approvals, construction start dates, or delivery timelines have been disclosed.
Project Snapshot:
Project Name: Energy Ranch
Owner / Developer: HC Capital Partners; Herrmann Family Companies
Site Size: 1,500+ acres
Primary Use: Power and data infrastructure campus
Location: South Texas
TheJobWalk Thoughts:
This is a land control and power access move, not a build announcement. The infrastructure positioning is real, but the schedule is not. Texas keeps winning these early stage plays because the grid math works. Contractors should monitor it quietly and wait for actual procurement signals.
