The Daily Dig
Hensel Phelps broke ground on September 30, 2026, on their new corporate headquarters in Loveland, Colorado. The building, known as HPHQ, will rise four stories and cover 143,000 square feet.
"As we approach our 90th anniversary in 2027, this groundbreaking marks an important moment in Hensel Phelps' history," said President and CEO Brad Jeanneret.
Location, Location, Interchange
HPHQ will sit within Avenue South at Centerra, Realberry's mixed-use development near Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 34.
Gensler designed the building to support the company's growth and evolving operations. Plans call for flexible workspaces, training and collaboration areas, and ground-floor retail serving employees and the surrounding community.
Timber Talk
A central atrium will pull natural light deep into the building and create sight lines between floors. Mass timber will give the space a warmer, more natural feel throughout, with balconies, gathering areas, and foothills views rounding out the design.
The project is pursuing LEED v5 Gold and WELL Platinum certifications, a demanding pairing for any office building.

TheJobWalk Thoughts
The release doesn't say how much of the mass timber is structural, and trades bidding later scopes should ask. If timber carries loads, connection detailing and fabrication usually push design decisions earlier. Lead times vary by supplier and system, so an early timber package protects everyone sequenced behind it.
WELL Platinum deserves an equally close read. Certification includes onsite testing of air, water, light, and sound, so the building's performance gets measured, not just inspected. Mechanical, plumbing, and lighting subs should confirm who carries that testing scope and who pays if results fall short.
