Construction tech company ICON announced on Oct. 13 that it raised a $200 million Series D, led jointly by Baillie Gifford and funds managed by BlackRock.
Where the Cash Pours:
Production of Titan, its multistory robotic print system, at its Austin factory
A large R&D facility in Austin
Continued development of Titan and Olympus
Expansion across Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., and new U.S. markets
Spec Sheet Swagger: ICON says Titan is engineered to build an average home six weeks faster at 40% lower cost than the national average.
Its FormCrete walls are engineered for 175+ mph winds (versus 40 mph for traditional stick frames) and a 2+ hour fire rating (versus 0.5 hours for conventional construction).
Receipts on the Slab:
270+ homes and structures in five states and two countries
Wolf Ranch in Georgetown, Texas, built with Lennar, which ICON calls the world’s first and largest 3D-printed home community
More than $370 million in government contracts for ICON Prime
On pace for 4x revenue growth in 2026
Boots on the Base: In January 2026, ICON broke ground on 10 barracks at Fort Bliss. ICON calls the project the largest robotic construction deployment in Department of War history.
It also says the barracks are the first 3D-printed structures to meet the Pentagon’s Unified Facilities Criteria.
Gray Hair on the Crew: ICON pitches its tech as a fix for an aging workforce. Its release says just 10% of U.S. construction workers are under 25, and 41% are expected to retire by 2031.
Moonlighting: ICON Prime is working with NASA on Project Olympus to develop construction systems for the Moon. Good luck getting the inspector out there.
