Space Coast Innovation Park, a new industrial development for public and private space industry tenants, has broken ground inside the airport's federally licensed Exploration Spaceport in Florida. Alston Construction, the general contractor, joined Key Group, Hines, and the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority for the groundbreaking.

Paving the Way: Site work is already underway on a Challenger Avenue extension that will connect Grissom Parkway to the airport's Perimeter Road.
That work is supported in part by a $5.8 million state grant that Governor Ron DeSantis announced for road infrastructure serving the park.
Brevard's Booster Stage: State officials estimate the broader project will bring more than 900 jobs to the area. That puts state money into the park's roads and a state jobs estimate on the table.
A Florida Commerce business development manager told attendees that aerospace has made Brevard County the most productive manufacturing county in the state per capita. Alston says the park is set to build on that trend.
Suits and Boots: State and local officials attended the ceremony. Representing Alston were Project Director Edward Taylor, VP/GM John Tello, Superintendent Hassib Galib-Bras, and Lead Architect Rei Gomez of Ware Malcomb.
Ground is officially broken. The vertical work is still ahead.
