The Daily Dig:
Lamar County School District has broken ground on replacement campuses for Purvis High School and Sumrall High School. Combined construction cost is $86 million, funded through a $117 million voter approved bond passed in November 2024.
The Purvis campus is going up directly across from the existing school. Sumrall's new campus sits along MS-44, near its current site. MP Design Group is leading design on both. The district expects students to be on both new campuses by Fall 2027.

TheJobWalk Thoughts:
Contracts are signed and ground is broken, pre-construction is done. Regional subs and suppliers should be tracking prime awards and getting in front of GC procurement teams now. Bond funded school work is clean: money is locked, oversight is real, and Fall 2027 isn't moving. Lock in your manpower and material commitments before the rest of the market catches up.
