The Daily Dig:

Manhattan Construction Company has promoted Raylena Browning to Senior Vice President, expanding her role across preconstruction and business development. She previously served as VP of Preconstruction Services and brings more than 20 years of experience to the position.

According to Manhattan, she has led preconstruction and client engagement on more than 50 contracts totaling over $4 billion in construction value. Browning also founded the firm's internal BuildHER network, aimed at supporting and mentoring women in construction.

The promotion follows the retirement of Senior Vice President Bob Vecera, who spent 45 years with the company. Manhattan credits him with significant project contributions across the country and a long-standing role in operational leadership, contract strategy, and team development. TheJobWalk Thoughts:

Browning now controls the front end, pursuits, pricing strategy, and how Manhattan positions with clients before a project ever gets priced. That's where scope gets defined and risk gets shaped. The timing alongside a 45-year veteran's retirement points to a deliberate succession, not a gap being filled. If you're selling into Manhattan or chasing negotiated work, now's the time to update your relationship map and know who's driving early decisions before you're already behind.
