Martin Marietta officially closed its combination with Lhoist North America on August 21. The deal folds LNA's lime business into Martin Marietta's portfolio, and the company says it now holds the title of the nation's leading producer of limestone products.
LNA makes high calcium lime, dolomitic lime, and industrial mineral products. Its customers span steel manufacturing, infrastructure, heavy nonresidential construction, and environmental solutions, so this touches a lot of what keeps mills and job sites moving.
What's Actually Changing Hands
LNA joins Martin Marietta's Specialties platform
Combined reserves top 2 billion tons of high quality limestone
Deal advances the company's SOAR 2030 objectives
CEO Ward Nye said the move strengthens the company's "portfolio of essential upstream materials." He also pointed to the reserve base as one of the most strategically advantaged limestone positions in North America.
Numbers Coming Later
Martin Marietta plans to release updated full year 2026 revenue and Adjusted EBITDA guidance reflecting the deal alongside its third quarter results. This announcement is the handshake. The real math shows up next quarter.
The company already operates across 29 states, Canada, and the Bahamas, and sits in the S&P 500. Adding LNA's lime and mineral lineup widens that footprint and adds materials used everywhere from steel furnaces to concrete batches.
Concrete Currents: Nye tied the deal directly to where U.S. spending is headed: infrastructure modernization, domestic manufacturing, and industrial growth. Lime just became part of that story.
