Lancium just landed NVIDIA as both a tech partner and an investor, tying its gigawatt scale AI campus pipeline directly into NVIDIA's full computing stack.
The Woodlands, Texas based Lancium, backed by Blackstone, has 4 GW of capacity under lease. Its development pipeline tops 15 GW of powered land. Under the deal, those campuses become deployment sites for NVIDIA's accelerated computing, networking, and software, built on NVIDIA's DSX reference designs.
The Watts and Whys:
DSX MaxLPS packs up to 40% more GPUs into the same power budget
DSX Flex lets AI factories flex their power draw with the grid, matching Lancium's model of campuses that double as grid assets
Lancium CEO Michael McNamara said the company spent years assembling the power, land, and infrastructure expertise to deliver AI capacity "at a scale the world has never seen." He called NVIDIA "the definitive technology platform for AI computing."
NVIDIA's Nico Caprez called AI factories "the essential infrastructure of this new industrial era." He said the partnership will help cloud partners, AI natives, and infrastructure developers deploy the NVIDIA stack faster and run leaner.
Blackstone's Bilal Khan tied the deal to two of the firm's "highest conviction investment themes": energy and AI infrastructure.
Lancium built its model on grid interconnects, on-site power generation, and the compute density AI workloads demand. This deal puts NVIDIA's name behind that bet at gigawatt scale.
Power capacity is the real chokepoint in AI right now, and this is the kind of validation that moves other deals off the shelf.
