Doosan Bobcat’s RogueX3, a fully electric concept loader, has won the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026, the company announced October 19.

It’s the second Red Dot for the RogueX platform, after the RogueX2 won in 2024. Doosan Bobcat calls the award one of the world’s three major design awards.

One Loader, Many Jobs:

  • Fully electric, with no exhaust emissions during operation

  • High-precision positioning/navigation sensors and cameras for autonomous operation and remote control

  • The first RogueX model with a modular design, so the wheel type, operator cab, and power unit can be swapped to suit the work environment

A company representative said the award recognizes RogueX for pushing the boundaries of conventional industrial design and for serving diverse work environments with a single machine.

Power Moves to the Rear

Typical compact loaders run a hydraulic system up front to drive attachments. The RogueX3 puts an electric drive unit at the rear instead.

Per Doosan Bobcat, that layout delivers:

  • A wider forward field of view

  • A required parts count cut by more than half

  • Better energy efficiency and easier maintenance

The battery is built into the frame, which lowers the center of gravity and improves stability. That’s a welcome trait in anything you’d rather not see tip.

What Earned the Nod

The award recognized an architecture optimized for electric and autonomous operation. Per the release, that design addresses labor shortages and growing demand for eco-friendly equipment on construction sites.

Lessons Headed for the Lineup

The RogueX3 is a concept model first unveiled at CES 2026. Doosan Bobcat plans to apply technology and design insights from the RogueX series to future product development.

The RogueX3 took home the trophy, but Bobcat’s future products are where its lessons are supposed to pay off.

Just a quick one..
