The Daily Dig
Pinkard Construction, a Colorado general contractor founded in 1962, is becoming part of Catamount Constructors. Catamount is a 100% employee-owned national construction firm with offices in Atlanta, Denver, San Antonio, and Tampa. The move brings Pinkard's decades of local market knowledge and client relationships into that national platform.
The partnership pairs Pinkard's roots in Colorado's Front Range with Catamount's national resources and reach. Pinkard brings Pinkard Frameworks into the deal, an in-house wood framing division. That division allows the combined companies to self-perform framing work on their own projects. It also continues serving outside developers and general contractors across the region.
Catamount CEO James Benning pointed to Pinkard's reputation for strong relationships and quality work as the reason the partnership made sense. Pinkard President Tony Burke said the arrangement lets the company grow while keeping its existing team and client relationships intact. He added that Pinkard will now be able to build for clients nationally and take on more complex projects.
Tom Alford, Catamount's Chief Operating Officer and a former Pinkard COO with more than 30 years in the Denver market, said the combination creates a stronger presence in the metro area. Pinkard has built its business across affordable housing, multifamily, senior living, recreation, municipal, office, healthcare, education, and advanced industries markets. Catamount has been ranked among Engineering News-Record's Top 400 National Contractors for eighteen straight years.

TheJobWalk Thoughts
Pinkard Frameworks is the detail worth watching closest. The release confirms it already serves outside developers and general contractors across the Front Range, not just Pinkard's own jobs. That existing self-perform framing relationship gives it a track record most in-house divisions do not have when they join a larger platform.
Frameworks' pitch centers on faster timelines, better quality, and more predictable outcomes through in-house estimating and on-site supervision. For GCs and developers currently sourcing framing separately on Front Range projects, that combination is worth a second look regardless of who holds the general contract.
