Skanska has signed a $110 million contract with the Renton School District to build the new Renton High School in Renton, Washington. The company announced the deal on Oct. 5 and says work has already begun, with completion expected in Fall 2029.

Q3 on the Books: Per Skanska, the contract will be included in its US order bookings for the third quarter of 2026. In Swedish currency, the deal is worth about SEK 1.0 billion.

Room for 1,600:

  • Three stories

  • 350,000 square feet

  • Classroom capacity for 1,600 students

More Than Homeroom: Beyond core classrooms, the campus will include learning environments for Career and Technical Education, art, science and electives. That gives career training a place in the plans alongside the core subjects.

The campus will also hold health services and special services spaces, community areas, a library, a cafeteria and a commons.

Game Plan:

  • Gymnasiums

  • A lighted baseball/softball field

  • A practice football/soccer field

Final Bell: Work is underway, and Fall 2029 is the date on the board. Between now and then, the job is turning a signed contract into three stories and 350,000 square feet of school.

Just a quick one..
