Siemens is building a new advanced manufacturing facility in Pendergrass, Georgia. The project is expected to create more than 1,400 jobs over the next three years. Governor Brian Kemp announced the plans on August 7, 2026, calling it the latest step in a long partnership between Siemens and the state.
The investment is valued at a minimum of $185 million, pending final approvals. The facility will run roughly 550,000 square feet and sit at 580 Raco Parkway near Pendergrass. It will produce low-voltage electrical components.
Buildout is scheduled to begin this November. Siemens plans to start hiring for engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing roles in 2027.
This won't be Siemens' first site in Georgia. The company already runs two manufacturing facilities and six offices across the state, employing more than 1,700 people, including its Electrical Products facility in Peachtree Corners. Barry Powell, North America President of Siemens Electrical Products, cited the state's workforce, business climate, and proximity to existing operations and supply chain partners in the Southeast as key reasons for the site selection.
The project came together through a partnership between the Georgia Department of Economic Development's Global Commerce team, the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce, the Jackson County Industrial Development Authority, Georgia Power, and Georgia Quick Start. Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Marty Clark said the facility will expand the county's manufacturing base and support long term workforce and economic growth goals.
Siemens' broader U.S. business is substantial. Siemens Group USA reported $24.427 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025, which ended September 30, 2025. The company operates 25 manufacturing sites nationwide with more than 50,000 employees serving all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

A November buildout start with hiring not planned until 2027 gives GCs and subs a real gap to work with. That window covers site work, utilities, and shell construction before the workforce phase begins, and it's the kind of gap that rewards contractors who reach out early rather than waiting for a GC to be publicly named.
The announcement doesn't identify a general contractor or describe how that selection will happen. Subs and suppliers with Southeast industrial experience should start making calls now, since early positioning matters more than waiting for a formal bid announcement on a project this size.
Georgia Power is named as a project partner, which confirms utility coordination is part of this deal from the start. The release doesn't say what stage that coordination is at, so contractors bidding site or utility work should use that partnership as a reason to start asking questions locally, not as confirmation that power capacity or interconnection is already settled.
