Skanska signed an additional $85 million contract with Florida Gulf Coast University to build a new academic building in Fort Myers, Florida. The deal, worth about SEK 790 million, lands in Skanska's U.S. order bookings for Q3 2026.
The full project covers site development and infrastructure for the building, known as Marieb Hall South. Once finished, it'll be the largest academic building on FGCU's campus.

158,000 square feet (about 14,700 square meters) of new space
Classrooms, offices, and concession areas
Specialized laboratories built for health sciences work
A dedicated simulation suite for hands-on training
That lab and simulation setup points to a building designed for hands-on health sciences training, not just lecture halls.
Timeline Check
The project kicked off this summer, with Skanska targeting completion in summer 2028, about two years to turn the site into the campus's new centerpiece.
