The Daily Dig

Zeo Energy Corp. (Nasdaq: ZEO) has entered a cooperation agreement with Ewyze Corp. to collaborate on developing data centers paired with dedicated off-grid microgrids. The partnership was announced September 22, 2026, and focuses primarily on the United States, with selected international markets also under consideration.

Off the Grid, On the Clock

The case for the partnership starts with a grid that's struggling to keep pace. In many U.S. regions, interconnection wait times can stretch 5 to 10 years. According to the release, that puts grid power out of reach for new data center projects on commercially relevant timelines.

Ewyze's answer is to develop the power and the data center together. Each microgrid combines solar PV and battery storage with an additional dispatchable source, which may include a grid connection, natural gas, or geothermal.

In Ewyze's model, even infrastructure described as off-grid may include a grid connection. The stated goal is to reduce dependence on traditional utility timelines, not to rule out the grid entirely.

The target is data center capacity online within roughly 2 to 3 years of project initiation. That holds only where market, land, permitting, financing, and technical conditions allow, which is a long list of ifs.

Who Brings the Toolbox

Ewyze brings more than 18 years of renewable energy development experience, and their team has developed approximately 1.7 GW across international markets. Zeo brings their public market platform and strategic relationships.

The two intend to work across the full project lifecycle. That covers site identification and land acquisition, permitting, engineering and construction, financing, and commercialization with data center operators and hyperscale customers.

Svante Kumlin, Chief Executive Officer of Ewyze, framed the opportunity simply: "The artificial intelligence revolution is fundamentally a power challenge."

No specific projects, sites, capacities, or dollar values have been publicly identified in the announcement.

TheJobWalk Thoughts

No site, dollar figure, or contractor has been named yet, so this is a relationship to watch, not a bid to chase. Engineering and construction do sit inside the partners' joint scope. With natural gas or geothermal as possible dispatchable sources, the trade list runs well past solar and storage.

The 2 to 3 year target also has to absorb land acquisition and permitting. Transformers and switchgear already carry notoriously long lead times across the market, leaving little slack. Subs who lock in procurement early will be the ones smiling at the ribbon cutting.
