System One has acquired GMP (Global Management Partners), a capital project planning and consulting firm, according to an October 19 announcement. Terms were not disclosed.
GMP serves owners in data center and advanced manufacturing, energy and energy transition, and process and industrial markets. It will operate as a System One company, with owner Price Howard remaining in place as president.
Plan Before You Pour
GMP specializes in front-end planning, and its work helps owners bring capital projects from strategy to delivery. Its services include:
Project concept and feasibility
Project definition and planning
Engineering, procurement, and project and construction management
Execution support
Size Check
GMP: Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Greer, South Carolina, with an additional office in Houston
System One: Founded more than 40 years ago, with more than 10,000 professionals in over 50 locations across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Brazil
Where the Planner Plugs In
GMP joins System One’s Critical Infrastructure sector. That sector spans project development, project delivery, site services and alliances, and project-based talent resourcing.
System One President and COO Greg Lignelli called GMP’s expertise “highly complementary.” He said the combination strengthens System One’s ability to support owners with proactive planning, specialized technical resources, and disciplined project execution.
Howard said System One provides the scale and capabilities that allow GMP to expand its impact.
From Feasibility to Field Crews
On paper, owners can now get feasibility work, project management, and specialized talent from the same corporate family. The real test is whether that shows up on the job site, not just in the press release.
