Subsea Cable Connecting Cyprus, Greece, & Israel

Lewis Snell Concept
Cyprus is in discussions with the United Arab Emirates regarding potential cooperation on a major EU-funded subsea electricity cable project linking Cyprus, Greece, and Israel.
The cable, managed by Greek transmission operator IPTO, will span approximately 1,240 kilometers and reach depths of up to 3,000 meters beneath the Mediterranean Sea. The estimated project cost is €1.9 billion ($2.2 billion USD).
Originally managed by EuroAsia Interconnector Ltd., the project was taken over by IPTO in late 2023. Cyprus is now reviewing the viability and cost implications of the development, amid an EU investigation into potential criminal activity related to the project. Discussions between the Cyprus and UAE leadership have focused on potential investment and technical collaboration.

Bluebeam Acquires Firmus for AI Development

Bluebeam
Bluebeam has acquired Firmus AI to improve how construction teams review drawings and reduce financial risks.
Firmus AI is known for using artificial intelligence to find problems in project drawings- like missing details or mismatches between architectural and structural plans. Their tools, AI‑REVIEW™ and AI‑MATCH™, scan 2D PDFs to catch these issues early.
By bringing Firmus AI into the Bluebeam platform, users will soon have smarter tools that highlight changes and compare drawings more accurately. This will help teams spot errors before they become expensive problems, cutting down on rework and reducing delays.
The integration is planned to begin in early 2026, with a preview available at Bluebeam’s annual event, Bluebeam Unbound, from September to October 2025.
