$40 Billion Acquisition of Aligned Data Centers

Aligned Data Centers
A consortium consisting of AI Infrastructure Partners (AIP), MGX, and BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Aligned Data Centers. The deal values Aligned at approximately $40 billion, making it one of the largest data center transactions in history.
Aligned operates nearly 50 hyperscale and enterprise data center campuses with over 5 gigawatts of operational and planned capacity. Its footprint spans North America and Latin America, including sites in Northern Virginia, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, Salt Lake City & Ohio.
Aligned is known for its scalable, high-density infrastructure tailored to AI and cloud workloads, including air, liquid, and hybrid cooling systems. The company will continue operations under its existing executive team, led by CEO Andrew Schaap, from its headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
The transaction is expected to close in H1 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Meta Breaks Ground on $1.5 Billion Texas Data Center

Just announced, Meta has broken ground on its new data center in El Paso Texas, committing $1.5 billion to the first phase of development.
The new campus will deliver up to 1 gigawatt of power capacity, built specifically to handle the massive computing demands of AI training and processing.
At peak construction, the project will support around 1,800 jobs and once complete, it will create about 100 permanent operational positions.

🏢BuildLACCD Just Got a $3.3B Booster Shot, Courtesy of Jacobs: Jacobs has been awarded an additional $3.3 billion under the BuildLACCD program to continue modernization across L.A Community College District campus. This five-year extension will include upgrades in housing, sustainability, IT infrastructure, and capital improvements across nine campuses in Los Angeles. Since 2018, the program has completed nearly 200 projects and launched over 475 new construction or renovation initiatives.

🔌Wyoming’s Going Wired, $1.2B Data Center Set to Drop in Cheyenne: Related Digital has broken ground on a major data center campus in Cheyenne, Wyoming, located within the Cheyenne Business Parkway. The 115-acre site will eventually support up to 302 MW of critical IT capacity. The initial 184,000 SF facility, scheduled for completion in late 2026, is anchored by CoreWeave with a long-term lease for 88 MW of capacity. Phase I alone is expected to generate over $250 million in tax revenue over 15 years and create over 700 construction jobs and 40 permanent positions. The facility will feature high-efficiency, air-cooled chillers to minimize water use.

Multiplex
Multiplex has been appointed as the main contractor for a new £450 million office tower development at 115-123 Houndsditch in the City of London. The project, led by developer Brockton Everlast, will replace an existing office building and deliver a 24-storey, high-specification commercial scheme known as "The Dovetail."
The building will offer approximately 719,750 square feet (66,867 m²) of office space and is targeting top-tier sustainability accreditations, including BREEAM “Outstanding,” LEED “Platinum,” and WELL “Platinum.”
The scheme will also feature retail units and community spaces at ground level, alongside significant public realm enhancements. Planning permission was granted in 2021, with modifications under consultation in early 2025.

Procore Unveils New AI for Construction Platform

Procore
Procore Technologies (NYSE: PCOR) has announced a suite of new AI features to be integrated into its construction management platform, as unveiled at Groundbreak 2025 in Houston, Texas.
The updates are built into Procore Helix, the platform's core intelligence layer, and include significant enhancements to Procore Assist, its AI assistant. Notable features include photo intelligence, multilingual and mobile support, and an open beta of the Procore Agent Builder, enabling users to create custom AI agents via natural language.
These AI-driven tools are designed to dramatically reduce time spent on key construction workflows like RFIs, submittals, and daily logs- from days to seconds. Prebuilt agents include an RFI Creation Agent and a Daily Log Agent.
