Semiconductor Market Hits $216.3 Billion

Glenn Carstens-Peters
The global semiconductor revenue reached a record $216.3 billion in Q3 2025, surpassing the $200 billion mark for the first time in industry history, according to Omdia.
This represents a 14.5% quarter-over-quarter increase, following 8% growth in Q2 2025. The industry is now on pace to exceed $800 billion in total revenue for full-year 2025.
The growth outpaced the historical Q3 average of 7%, with broad-based strength across sectors beyond AI and memory. Excluding top contributors like NVIDIA and memory ICs, the rest of the market still grew over 9% quarter-over-quarter.
NVIDIA, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron accounted for more than 40% of total semiconductor revenue in the quarter. Omdia expects continued momentum into Q4 2025 and 2026.

Bobyard Lands $35 Million Series-A Funding

Bobyard
Bobyard, an AI-powered construction estimating platform, has secured $35 million in Series A funding to accelerate product development and expand into additional construction trades.
The platform uses proprietary computer-vision models to automate construction takeoffs, enabling estimators to produce bids significantly faster and with greater accuracy. Users have reported up to a 65% reduction in takeoff time and the ability to submit 3–5 times more bids per estimator.
Bobyard has seen particular traction in the landscaping sector and plans to expand into drywall, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and framing. Early adopters like Chopper Landscaping have used the platform to win their first commercial projects.

Walkie Talkie Building, London

Unsplash
The Walkie Talkie building, officially known as 20 Fenchurch Street, is a 38-story commercial skyscraper located in London’s financial district. Developed by Land Securities and the Canary Wharf Group, the tower was designed by Rafael Viñoly and constructed between 2011 and 2014.
Standing at 160 meters tall, the building features a distinctive top-heavy shape with floor plates expanding outward as the structure rises. It provides approximately 690,000 square feet of office space and includes a three-level public Sky Garden at the top.
Construction involved a reinforced concrete core and approximately 8,000 tonnes of structural steel, fabricated and erected by William Hare. The steel structure was completed in 35 weeks. The building opened to tenants in mid-2014, with the Sky Garden opening to the public in early 2015.
The project attracted attention for a solar glare issue during construction, which damaged nearby vehicles and led to retrofitted shading solutions.
