Meta & Oklo Partner on 1.2GW Nuclear Project

Oklo x Meta
Oklo and Meta have announced an agreement to advance the development of a 1.2 gigawatt nuclear power campus in Pike County, Southern Ohio. The project is designed to support Meta’s data center operations in the region, including its AI infrastructure near New Albany.
Under the agreement, Meta will prepay for power and provide funding to help Oklo secure nuclear fuel and advance Phase 1 of the project, which aims to deliver clean, reliable power scalable up to 1.2 GW.
The site covers 206 acres in Pike County, formerly owned by the U.S. Department of Energy, and was acquired with support from the Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative.
Timeline & Capacity:
Pre‑construction and site development slated to begin in 2026.
First phase targeted to be operational by 2030.
Full 1.2 GW capacity expected by 2034.
The project is anticipated to create local construction and long term operational jobs, contribute to Ohio’s clean energy workforce, and generate new state and local tax revenues through advanced energy infrastructure investment.

PROJECTS
Build of The Week
$6B AVAIO Digital Partners Data Center Campus

Courtesy of AVAIO Digital
AVAIO Digital Partners is developing a large scale, AI-ready data center and power campus in Pulaski County, near Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 760-acre campus, named AVAIO Digital Leo, will be built in multiple phases. The first phase includes an initial investment of $6 billion for core infrastructure, tenant improvements, and power.
Power for the campus will begin with a 150 MW supply from Entergy Arkansas and could scale up to 1 GW. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q1 2026, with the initial phase expected to be completed and energized by June 2027.
The project is expected to create over 500 full-time operations jobs in the next five years, with thousands more during construction.
Client: AVAIO Digital Partners
General Contractors: TBD
Award: Data Center
Value: $6 Billion
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas
Movement in the field:
🎉 Micron’s $100B Chip Party Starts: Micron Technology will break ground on January the 16th, starting on site prep and infrastructure work for its future semiconductor manufacturing campus in Clay, just outside Syracuse, NY. The project represents the first physical step in a decades long phased investment in U.S memory production. Current work focuses on grading, utilities, and road access, laying groundwork for future fabs, which will be built as market demand and CHIPS Act support dictate.
Developer: Micron Technology, Sector: Semiconductor/Infrastructure, Value: Up to $100 Billion (phased), Location: Clay, New York
⚡ A Whole Lotta Power... Someday: HC Capital Partners and Herrmann Family Companies have announced Energy Ranch, a 1,500+ acre data and power infrastructure site in South Texas. The project aims to serve energy intensive tenants with access to natural gas pipelines, dual power feeds, and proximity to a future 765kV transmission line. The announcement signals land and grid positioning, not active construction, with no tenants, MW capacity, or timelines disclosed.
Developer: HC Capital Partners & Herrmann Family Companies, Sector: Energy & Infrastructure, Value: TBD, Location: South Texas
🌊 Arizona’s WTP Knows When It’s Leaking: McCarthy Building Companies is progressing on a $168M expansion of the Signal Butte Water Treatment Plant in Mesa, AZ. Phase one includes a new 8MG reservoir with a built-in subsurface leak detection system, designed to address soft soils and long term maintenance. Crews are staging 20,000 CY of material onsite to reduce haul off costs, and early planning has already trimmed two months from the schedule.
Developer: City of Mesa, General Contractor: McCarthy Building Companies, Engineering Team: Black & Veatch, Sector: Water Infrastructure, Value: $168 Million, Location: Mesa, Arizona
⚽ From Blueprints to GOOOOALS: Mortenson will lead construction for Denver Summit FC’s new $225M, 14,500-seat stadium at Santa Fe Yards, with preconstruction starting now and full build kicking off Spring 2026. Designed by Populous, it will be the second purpose built women’s pro soccer stadium in the U.S, targeting a 2028 NWSL debut. Denver-based MWBE firm Gratacon joins as associate partner, with CAA ICON managing the project.
Developer: Denver Summit FC, General Contractor: Mortenson, Sector: Sports & Entertainment, Value: $225 Million, Location: Denver, Colorado

Bobcat Launches AI Jobsite Companion

Unsplash
Bobcat has announced the launch of Jobsite Companion, an AI‑powered on machine assistant designed to simplify equipment operation and improve productivity for compact construction equipment.
Unveiled at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Jobsite Companion embeds Bobcat’s proprietary AI model directly into the machine, allowing operators to interact through voice and on screen prompts. The system provides real-time guidance for machine operation, attachment use, and task execution, helping both new and experienced operators work more efficiently.
Unlike cloud-dependent systems, Jobsite Companion runs entirely on the machine, enabling low‑latency, real time responses even in remote jobsites with limited connectivity.
Bobcat also introduced Service.AI, a complementary tool that helps technicians and dealers quickly access diagnostics, manuals, and service data to reduce downtime.
WORLD
The Medog Hydropower Station, China

The Medog Hydropower Station, set to become the world’s largest hydropower facility by capacity, is under construction on the Yarlung Tsangpo River in Medog County, Tibet Autonomous Region, China.
Construction officially began in July 2025, with the multi-phase project expected to span several years, extending into the 2030s. The estimated total investment is around ¥1 trillion RMB (approximately $137 billion USD), making it one of the most expensive energy infrastructure projects ever undertaken.
Once completed, the station is expected to generate up to 60 gigawatts of installed capacity, surpassing China’s Three Gorges Dam (22.5 GW). The project involves major civil works, including massive river diversion tunnels, high dams, and complex power generation systems.
The project is led by the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), a state owned engineering and construction giant. Tens of thousands of workers are expected to be employed over the life of the project, tackling difficult terrain and high seismic activity in one of the most geologically challenging regions in the world.
