The Daily Dig:
White Cap has reached an agreement to buy Colony Hardware, folding the specialty distributor into its construction supply network. Both companies framed the deal as a way to broaden contractor access to products and services across a wider geographic footprint.
Colony Hardware runs out of Orange, Connecticut and covers territory through the Central and Eastern U.S. The company moves tools, equipment, supplies, and safety gear, and also handles tool repair and rentals. Closing is expected soon, pending standard conditions. No price was announced.

TheJobWalk Thoughts:
This isn't a flashy rollup, it's a play for reach and serviceability. Colony brings repair, rental, and field support that fits cleanly under White Cap's existing distribution model. For contractors and suppliers, the real effect shows up later: overlapping branches get consolidated, account reps get reassigned, and buying terms start to shift as volume gets pooled. If you're in sales or BD, keep an eye on how they bundle product categories and service tiers post-close. That's usually when purchasing patterns start to move.
