Fervo Energy has secured a 396-megawatt power purchase agreement with Google, marking the largest enhanced geothermal PPA signed to date. The deal supports continued buildout of the Cape Station GeoCluster in Utah, a project expected to begin delivering power in 2028.

The agreement includes an option for Google to expand its commitment by roughly 600 megawatts, pushing the total toward nearly 1 gigawatt by June 2030. Company officials note that final data center plans still depend on engineering feasibility, regulatory approval, and other commercial factors.

Fervo CEO Tim Latimer said the agreement demonstrates that enhanced geothermal systems are ready to support large-scale computing demand, calling it part of a repeatable model for delivering firm, round-the-clock power.

This latest deal builds on years of collaboration between the two companies, dating back to Fervo's Project Red pilot in Nevada and a 2024 PPA that helped launch that state's Clean Transition Tariff.

The Cape Station expansion also relies on Utah's SB132 framework, which could eventually allow direct power delivery arrangements between Fervo and Google, pending regulatory review.

CF Industries, JERA Co., and Mitsui & Co. have broken ground on Blue Point One, a low-carbon ammonia plant in Modeste, Louisiana, set to become the world's largest upon completion. The $3.7 billion joint venture project will produce 1.4 million metric tons of ammonia annually once operational in 2029.

Ownership breaks down with CF Industries holding 40 percent, JERA 35 percent, and Mitsui 25 percent. The facility will support both agricultural fertilizer supply and emerging energy markets, adding more than 100 permanent manufacturing jobs and an estimated 3,900 construction jobs over four years.

CF Industries is committing an additional $550 million toward shared infrastructure for future expansion, while Linde will invest over $400 million in an on-site air separation unit to supply oxygen and nitrogen.

Blue Point One will use autothermal reforming technology and is expected to capture 98 percent of CO2 generated during production, with 1PointFive and Enbridge handling transport and permanent sequestration.

Walmart is planning a $1.3 billion, next-generation fulfillment center in Carnesville, Georgia, bringing 1,000 new jobs to Franklin County. Governor Brian Kemp announced the project during an economic development trip to South America. The 1.5 million square foot automated facility will rise at the Franklin 85 Logistics Center, supporting Walmart's push for faster same-day and next-day shipping. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with state, local, and utility partners backing the deal.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy marked the groundbreaking of the Blatnik Bridge replacement on I-535, connecting Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin. The project follows a $1.05 billion USDOT investment secured after Congressman Pete Stauber's advocacy. The new span will replace the 65-year-old, mile-and-a-half bridge and serve roughly 33,000 daily vehicles. Project Labor Agreements will ensure the bridge is built with union labor throughout construction.

Four new data center buildings are headed for Cedar Creek, Texas, under permit filings through Burr Computer Environment and Uppingham Adams Holdings, which are tied to EdgeConneX's growing Bastrop County footprint. The projects, spanning two FM 535 addresses, carry a combined $2.8 billion in estimated construction costs and range from 577,000 to 730,000 square feet each. Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning is the named design firm. Construction is expected to run between September 2026 and March 2029, expanding what could become a 1,500-acre data center campus.

Sabey Data Centers has outlined community commitments for its proposed data center campus in Decatur Township, Indianapolis, including $5 million for road improvements and nearly $25 million for a new aquatic center. The 130-acre project carries a projected $4.25 billion taxable capital investment and would create 75 permanent jobs averaging over $104,000 annually. Construction is expected to begin in 2027 using local union labor, following an agreement with area unions.

Caterpillar has entered a collaboration with FieldAI to bring physical AI, autonomy, and robotics into industrial jobsites and manufacturing facilities. The partnership pairs Caterpillar's operational data and equipment expertise with FieldAI's AI-enabled robot foundation models, aiming to help operations run safer and more efficiently.

Early applications include autonomous inspections, digital twins that track equipment and infrastructure in real time, improved risk detection, and simulation-driven operational optimization. The goal is to give teams clearer visibility into how jobsites and factories function so they can respond faster to problems.

Caterpillar Chief Technology Officer Jaime Mineart said combining human expertise with AI-powered machines will shape the future of the industry. The company selected FieldAI for its track record deploying autonomy in complex environments where standard automation methods often struggle.

The collaboration also draws on NVIDIA's accelerated computing and Omniverse technologies to build high-fidelity digital twins from real operational data.

FieldAI has deployed its systems across hundreds of sites worldwide and has raised more than $400 million from investors including NVIDIA's venture arm and Khosla Ventures.

Frank Gehry's long anticipated Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is nearing completion on Saadiyat Island, poised to become the largest of the four Guggenheim museums worldwide, surpassing even Gehry's own Guggenheim Bilbao in scale.

The museum spans 30,000 square meters and rises 88 meters, anchored by nine cone-shaped structures that serve as both entrances and exhibition space for commissions and acquisitions. Glass bridges connect the building's four levels and central atrium, tying the layout together across the site.

A joint venture between BESIX and Trojan General Contracting LLC holds the main construction contract, covering all work beyond the foundations, which were completed earlier in the project.

Crews are building with a mix of steel, concrete, wood, and aluminum throughout the structure, carefully sequenced to optimize planning and procurement across the site.

Design elements draw on regional tradition, with natural cooling and ventilation inspired by Middle Eastern wind towers, a nod to the building's Gulf setting and desert climate.

The museum joins Louvre Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum in the Saadiyat Cultural District, with completion currently targeted for 2026.
