Loenbro has acquired Prism Electric, a Texas and Oklahoma electrical contractor, in the largest deal in Loenbro's history. The move expands the Westminster, Colorado-based company's electrical capabilities and broadens its footprint across the South.

Prism, founded in 1994, has built a strong reputation in healthcare, industrial, and mission-critical electrical work. That expertise now folds into Loenbro's multi-craft service lineup, which spans data centers, energy, aviation, and commercial construction.

The deal brings roughly 2,500 Prism employees into the Loenbro organization. Prism's leadership will take on operational roles within Loenbro's South Region to guide integration.

CEO Daniel Cowan called the acquisition a milestone in Loenbro's long-term growth strategy, one built on shared values and complementary strengths between the two companies.

The purchase follows Loenbro's December 2025 partnership with private equity firm Kohlberg, continuing its push toward becoming a broader national contractor.

Meta is expanding its Eagle Mountain Data Center in Utah, growing its total investment in the state to more than $3 billion. The expansion will support more than 1,200 construction workers at peak activity, with over 300 permanent roles once the facility is operational.

Alongside the buildout, Meta is fully funding new power generation and grid infrastructure to strengthen reliability across the Rocky Mountain Power grid.

The company has helped add more than 1.7 GW of clean energy and 600 MWh of battery storage across 13 sites statewide, including the 150-megawatt Faraday Energy Storage project.

New buildings at the campus will run on a closed-loop, water-efficient liquid cooling system paired with dry cooling, eliminating operational water use in the cooling process.

Since breaking ground in 2018, Meta has invested more than $50 million in local roads and water infrastructure.

The expansion continues a build program running since 2018, backed now by billions in committed capital.

Aligned Data Centers has broken ground on Project Phoenix, a 2 GW data center campus in Shippingport, Pennsylvania, anchoring an estimated $10 billion in regional investment. The site, adjacent to the former Shippingport Power Station, will use dedicated onsite power rather than the local grid. The project is expected to support roughly 3,000 construction jobs and 640 permanent positions once operational.

Wiwynn and Amazon are expanding their advanced manufacturing facility in Socorro, Texas, creating nearly 1,000 new jobs by the end of 2027. The expansion, backed by over $1.6 billion from Wiwynn, will grow the site's workforce past 2,500 next year, with capacity to reach 4,000. The facility produces server racks supporting Amazon's data center infrastructure.

USA Rare Earth has broken ground on an 800,000 square foot rare earth metal and magnet manufacturing facility in Blacksburg, South Carolina, a roughly $1.2 billion investment expected to create about 490 high-skill jobs. Clark Construction Group and Frampton Construction are serving as design-builder, with Trammell Crow Company as developer. The facility targets 6,400 metric tons of annual magnet production, with commissioning set for 2028.

Buildots has raised $130 million in new funding, led by O.G. Venture Partners with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intel Capital, and several other investors. The round brings the construction technology company's total funding to $297 million.

The Tel Aviv-based firm builds an AI platform that gives construction owners and contractors real-time visibility into project progress, using computer vision to turn site footage into a digital twin of ongoing work.

More than 100 large firms already use the platform, including owners Digital Realty and Intel, along with contractors STO Building Group, JE Dunn, Mortenson, Bouygues, and HOCHTIEF.

CEO Roy Danon said the AI-driven data center buildout has accelerated demand for the platform across residential, commercial, and mission-critical projects alike.

The Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art has been completed along the shore of Jinji Lake in Suzhou, China, designed by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group). The 60,000 square meter complex reinterprets the lang, a covered walkway central to Suzhou's traditional gardens, as its organizing architectural device.

Twelve linked pavilions make up the structure, connected above ground and below by a continuous ribbon roof. What appears as a cluster of separate buildings at street level functions as one unified structure beneath the surface.

The pavilion count grew from an earlier plan of ten volumes, with the final design splitting the program further to let garden and plaza space thread between smaller, more legible units.

Construction wrapped in 2026, with the museum now open to the public on Suzhou Industrial Park's You'an Street.
